And then the inevitable occurs: our narrator's contract is up and he must leave San Gonzalo, bidding farewell to the young man he loves. Settling back in his hometown in the American Midwest, he confronts a new set of challenges with friends and lovers from his recent past. Tragedy mixes in, and lives that were once serene and carefree become complicated with circumstances beyond their control. In the midst of these problems, the young man he left behind reaches out and contacts him in extraordinary ways, putting his own safety and wellbeing at risk. Love will triumph, but not before a labyrinth of obstacles is overcome and the two are reunited. Book three, FIGHTING AGAINST LUCHO: A Gay Man's Agony Ends, will appear in the near future, completing this fascinating trilogy.
